  Nephrology is a division with a lot of research possibilities with national and international collaborations and includes a wide variety of basic and patient-based clinical research. Hereby, we aim to offer medical treatments to our patients which is always based on the latest evidence and to develop innovative therapies by our clinical and translational studies.The Clinic for Internal Medicine 3, Division of Nephrology, Hugo Laboratory, focuses on clinically relevant mechanisms of renal regeneration, vessel repair and its modulation by therapy.

  We are looking for a new team member as a

  Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/x)

  This Full- or Part-Time-Positon is limited for two years. The Position is immediately available .

  Our group focuses on the mechanisms of renal/glomerular regeneration and hereby identified a renal precursor cell niche of renin lineage cells within the juxtaglomerular apparatus, which is activated and tightly regulated upon intraglomerular injury. Established transgenic mouse systems to trace and modulate this precursor cell niche will be challenged to define the signals being responsible for activation, transdifferentiation or death of the precursor cells as a defined injury response. We are therefore looking for an integrative personality that may foster our research by great communications skills.

  We are a dynamic, flexible, open-minded and creative team with increasing international visibility. The Hugo laboratory is located in the Medizinisch-Theoretisches Zentrum (MTZ). Close interconnections between our group and excellent basic research institutions, such as the Centre for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD), the Medical Faculty and the Max-Planck Institute for Cell Biology and Genetics have been established and allow internationally competitive projects.

  Your profile:

  - The successful candidate is supposed to do high quality in vivo work using our established renal mice injury models, cell culture work (western blotting, flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, cloning, etc) as well as potentially microfluidic systems (in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute Dresden) and renal organoids. - Within these studies, intravital imaging of renal precursor cells (renin lineage cells) during murine kidney disease and its characterization will be part of the project.
