Job Description

The Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. The Postdoctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Postdoctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.

The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:

Synthesize, purify, conjugate and characterize of novel biomaterials for encapsulation and cytoprotection

Experiment planning (in collaboration with the supervisor and other personnel involved)

Meticulous documentation and summarization of the results (including digital/photographic documentation and computerized data entering)

Periodic written reports

Attendance of research meetings/seminars and journal club presentations is expected

Participation in professional training workshops/sessions may be required

Guidance and mentoring of graduate students might be required

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in a closely related field or M.D. Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
