英国伦敦玛丽女王大学计算生物学、数据分析或相关领域博士后职位招聘

Post title: Postdoctoral Research Assistant

Post ref:  QMUL22596

A position is available for a postdoctoral research assistant to join the laboratory of Silvia Marino at the Blizard Institute, Barts and The London School of Medicine, Queen Mary University of London, on a 5 years Cancer Research UK funded programme award, in collaboration with Sven Nelander, Uppsala University and Trevor Graham, Barts Cancer Institute. The successful applicant will join a leading multidisciplinary research group composed of basic scientists and clinical researchers focusing on understanding key mechanisms driving epigenetic dysregulation in brain tumours and how these can be harnessed to develop novel therapeutic strategies.

We seek an ambitious and self-motivated postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in computational biology, statistics, computer science, or a related field, to lead a multi-organisation collaborative project focused on leveraging exciting newly developed experimental tools, including patient-derived tumour stem cells and matched iPSC-derived neural stem cells, as well as comparative epigenomic datasets derived thereof to develop new approaches for personalised prediction of drug responses in glioblastoma, a currently untreatable malignant tumour of the brain. The successful applicant will lead our bioinformatics and computational modelling analysis with guidance in large data analytics (Nelander) and clonal evolution in drug response (Graham). The cross-centre nature of the post will require that the post holder is able to relocate between London, UK and Uppsala, Sweden during the project lifetime.

Details about the Blizard Institute, Uppsala University and Barts Cancer Institute can be found at www.blizard@qmul.ac.uk, https://www.igp.uu.se/ and https://www.bartscancer.london/ respectively.

We offer competitive salaries, access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days’ leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time/fixed-term), a season ticket loan scheme and access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities. In addition, we offer a range of work life balance and family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, and campus facilities including an on-site nursery at the Mile End campus.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is a full time, fixed-term appointment for 2 years in the first instance, with an expected start date of September 2020 or as soon as possible after this date. The starting salary will be Grade 4/5 at the appropriate point for experience, in the range of £34,220 and £41,299 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.

Queen Mary’s commitment to our diverse and inclusive community is embedded in our appointments processes. Reasonable adjustments will be made at each stage of the recruitment process for any candidate with a disability. We are open to considering applications from candidates wishing to work flexibly.

Informal enquiries should be addressed to Prof Silvia Marino, s.marino@qmul.ac.uk.
