Position Title: Post-Doctoral Fellow - Physics
Pay Range:
$38,000 - $63,000
Mines takes into consideration a combination of candidate's education, training and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, work location, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.
Responsibilities:
Conduct research in quantum information science in collaboration with SQMS. Possible topics could include but are not limited to: design and operation of 3d cavity-based logical qubits, development hardware efficient quantum error correction schemes, and the development of quantum algorithms (and noise mitigation strategies for them) for simulating many-body physics and classical optimization tasks.
Publish related research and present at conferences.
Successful candidate will have the opportunity to mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in physics or a related field. All PhD requirements should be completed by the time work commences.
Previous research experience in one or more areas of quantum information science.
Publication record in one or more areas of quantum information science.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience simulating quantum physics with classical computers.
