Post-doctoral Researcher in Computational modelling of neuromodulation

(W/M)

Your mission :

The aim of the EPFL Blue Brain Project (BBP), a Swiss brain research initiative founded and directed by Professor Henry Markram, is to establish simulation neuroscience as a complementary approach alongside experimental, theoretical and clinical neuroscience to understanding the brain, by building the world's first biologically detailed digital reconstructions and simulations of the mouse brain.

Within the Simulation Neuroscience division, we are looking for a Post- doctoral Researcher in Computational modelling of neuromodulation W/M.

Main duties and responsibilities include :

  Literature mining, data curation, including data from experimental lab (e.g., electrophysiological recordings)

  Improve and extend existing models of neuromodulation

  Model the effect of neuromodulators at the level of synapses, single cells, network

  Integrate the models of neuromodulation into large-scale networks

  Study the functional roles of neuromodulators

Your profile :

  PhD in Neuroscience, Computational Neuroscience, or related field

  Experience in Neuroscience, Computational Neuroscience, and Neuromodulation

  Experience in scientific computing software (python, Linux)

  Interest in participating in a collaborative big science project

  Strong team player and fluent English in speech and writing
