Position description

The Diversity in Development Laboratory (PI: Hyesung Grace Hwang) in the Psychology Department at the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for the position of postdoctoral scholar.

The Diversity in Development Lab investigates socio-cognitive development starting from infancy to early childhood. We examine these processes in racially, linguistically, and culturally diverse populations and use a variety of interdisciplinary methods across psychology, neuroscience (e.g., EEG), and physiology. Please see https: // www. hghwang.com/ and https: // diversityindevelopmentlab.sites.ucsc.edu/ for more information about our research.

The position's responsibilities include study design/development, data collection, data analysis, writing manuscripts, and conference presentations. The postdoctoral scholar will also have opportunity to collaborate with Nathan Fox at the University of Maryland. There are also opportunities for the development of novel research directions related to the primary NIH R00 studies and opportunities to write mentored grant proposals.

The ideal candidate will have experience with EEG data acquisition and analyses. Applicants with the following any of the following qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply: experience using EEG methods with infants and/or children; expertise in programming skills (e.g., Matlab, R, and/or Python); experience supervising and coordinating research assistants; and/or strong project management skills.
