An NIH-funded Postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jia Fei in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry (MBB), Busch Campus, Rutgers University–New Brunswick.
The laboratory studies the basic mechanisms of eukaryotic gene expression using a combination of biochemistry, cell biology, and genomics approaches. We seek a self-motivated, career-oriented postdoc to explore the function and dynamics of liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) condensates during the RNA Polymerase II transcription.
The expertise required includes a thorough knowledge of molecular biology and biochemistry (cloning, expression, and protein purifications), mammalian tissue culture and live cell imaging experiences, genome editing, and high throughput sequencing. Training opportunities for analyzing genome-wide data sets are available.
